NASCO Electronics Rewards Bashir Hayford and Richmond Opoku for Outstanding Performances in September’s Ghana Premier League
Accra, October 22, 2024 — NASCO Electronics, through its sole distributor Electroland Ghana Limited, has once again reinforced its commitment to Ghanaian football by celebrating excellence in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Heart of Lions coach, Bashir Hayford, and Young Apostles striker, Richmond Opoku, have been named Coach and Player of the Month for September, respectively, following their impressive performances.
Celebrating Excellence
Coach Hayford guided Heart of Lions to an unbeaten run, winning three consecutive matches in September. Opoku, on the other hand, stood out as one of the league’s top attackers, scoring three goals to earn the coveted Player of the Month accolade.
The awards ceremony took place at Electroland Ghana’s head office in Accra on Wednesday, October 22, where both winners received premium NASCO prizes for their outstanding achievements.
- Richmond Opoku received a 40-inch digital satellite television and a double-door fridge with a bottom freezer.
- Bashir Hayford was presented with a 43-inch television and a chest freezer.
Strengthening a Lasting Partnership
During the presentation, Adiza Ibrahim, Head of Marketing and Communications at Electroland Ghana, reaffirmed NASCO’s strong relationship with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
“Our relationship with the FA and the league started in 2017, and it’s been good. It is an everlasting partnership, and we will always be there to support our players and coaches for what they do for this country,” she said.
She added that NASCO’s continued investment in Ghanaian football is motivated by a passion to recognize talent and encourage performance across all levels of the game.
“What we have put into the league is a lot, and I cannot begin to quantify it. For eight years, we have supported players and coaches — but the joy for us at NASCO Electronics is that there’s motivation to do more because of what we give them,” she noted.
Expanding Support Across Divisions
This season, NASCO Electronics has extended its sponsorship to the Division One League and the Women’s Premier League.
- Division One League Man of the Match winners now receive a NASCO pressing iron, while monthly award winners receive televisions.
- In the Women’s Premier League, the Player of the Month receives a 40-inch NASCO television and a four-burner gas cooker, an upgrade from previous years.
Through these initiatives, NASCO continues to play a vital role in motivating players and coaches, promoting excellence, and driving the growth of football across Ghana.
